If you missed the first-ever “Plant-Based Cookout and Block Party” in Atlanta, be sure to mark your calendars for next year. The sold-out event is poised to be a household name in vegan communities around the world.
The culinary extravaganza garnered over 3,000 people to southwest Atlanta’s Shifting Energy Fairgrounds on July 6. Visitors from Atlanta, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, United Arab Emirates, and Ferrara, Italy were among the thousands who made the trek for good (healthy!) food, good vibes, and good people. Ticket sales show that the journey was well worth it.
With the support of social media, tickets sold out about two days before the event. Coverage on the following media outlets also generated much buzz: CBS46, Peachtree TV, Atlanta Journal-Constitution, VegNews, WABE 90.1 FM, WRFG 89.3 FM, Narcity.com, and idontdoclubs.biz
Though the cookout offered tons of summertime fun, the vegan visionaries behind the cookout said the event supports a bigger mission: educating communities about the importance of making healthy choices.
